Learning about Happiness

Learning is a continuum. It does not matter want you are doing, reading, listening or watching you always have something to learn. Whether learning is about you, others or the world it continues your life education, broadening your experiences and your empathy towards others and the universe.

The last two books I have read were easy reads. Things I want my Daughter to Know by Elizabeth Noble flowed well and was very touching. It helped with my healing and helped but some of my thoughts into perceptive. The other novel, Hector and the Search for Happiness by Lelord was challenging for me to get through due to its style. A very naive style which was frustrating personally but effective technique to get it message across.

Here are several of Hector's lessons that I liked, for you to ponder on:
  • "Making comparisons can spoil your happiness" Keeping up with the Jones is very hard work...be gratiful with all you have. We have to much so give away what you don't need. Decluttering is so rewarding.
  • "Sometimes happiness is not knowing the whole story" Love this one ,for when I reviewed so of my life experiences this came up many times. Sometimes it is great to be naive and have a simple view.
  • "Happiness is along walk in beautiful, unfamiliar mountains" I am excited about going Norway and Sweden. The last unfamiliar mountins I walked were the Dolomites in Italy. Fantastic!!!
  • "happiness is having a home and a garden of your own" Especially when you just clean it or when the flowers have bloomed.
  • "The sun and the sea make everybody happy" Totally relate to this living here in the midland UK.
  • "Happiness is knowing how to celebrate" Let's party!
  • "Happiness comes when you feel truly alive" Yes ....when you have finished or during exercising  and when in pain or scared.
Be happy!
